A New Chapter

A New Chapter in Our Ministry!

The past few months have been filled with prayer, exciting opportunities, and some big changes for the Ihle family!

In May 2026, while Scott was completing his final short course at Freed-Hardeman University and the kids were finishing their school year, we began interviewing with several congregations. It had become clear that the Lord was leading us in a new direction.

While this transition may surprise some, others have commented that they could tell something was stirring. For more than a year, we had sensed a growing restlessness as Scott's desire to preach continued to grow alongside his study of God's Word. Through countless hours of prayer, family discussions, and yes, even tears, we asked God to lead us where our faith could grow and where He could best use Scott's passion for teaching.

We honestly thought Georgia would be home for many more years. Instead, God opened a door we never expected, and we are incredibly grateful to have joined the Westbury Church of Christ in Houston Texas, where Scott accepted the full-time minister position. He began serving just two weeks ago, and we are excited for this new chapter.

So, what does this mean for Intercultural Bible and Logos Answers? The short answer is the mission continues.

The work of translating God's Word, producing biblical teaching, equipping Christians, and helping others grow as teachers is moving forward. Our platforms continue to grow, and our staff will keep designing, translating, and collaborating through Intercultural Bible. As Scott preaches each week, those lessons will be recorded, translated, and shared with audiences around the world. He will also continue writing lessons and developing new teaching resources.

One significant change is that Scott will no longer receive full financial support through the nonprofit, as his full-time ministry is now provided by the church. Alexis will continue serving Intercultural Bible in a full-time role, overseeing communications and project coordination. Scottie, Samantha, and Garrison will begin an exciting new school year at Westbury Christian School this August.

The last few months have been a whirlwind, and we're grateful to finally share this exciting news with you. Thank you for your continued prayers, encouragement, and faithful support. Your partnership has helped make this ministry possible, and we look forward to seeing how God continues to use both our local ministry in Texas and the worldwide work of Intercultural Bible.

June Highlights

• Scottie and Samantha attended both Camp Inagehi and Horizons and thoroughly enjoyed each experience.

  

• Scott launched FluentBible.Academy! More to come about this in our next newsletter update.

  

• We said, "See you later", never "goodbye" to our Woodstock Church of Christ family. Thank you to everyone who attended our "Goodbye Ihle family" gathering and for the thoughtful notes, encouragement, support, and love you showed our family.

• Hello, Westbury Church of Christ! Scott and Garrison drove the 26-foot moving truck, Alexis and Samantha drove Jovie (with the bike rack in tow), and Scottie the rock star, drove the Dodge, loaded with all of Alexis' houseplants. We made it safely to Texas and were welcomed to our new home with balloons, housewarming gifts, and more than 15 members ready to help unload the truck. What an incredible welcome!

• Just four days after arriving in Texas, Alexis, Scottie, and Samantha packed their bags again. This time to join Westbury's youth group on a mission trip to New Iberia, Louisiana.

• Scott officially began serving as the preaching minister at Westbury Church of Christ.

God’s Plan for You – In Arabic

Before leaving Georgia, Scott was called for jury duty. What we initially viewed as an inconvenience, God was using as an opportunity. While fulfilling his civic responsibility, Scott met an individual who specializes in translating English into Arabic for studios. What a blessing! Through this new relationship, we were able to complete the God's Plan for You video in Arabic and are now working with missionaries we know, who serve Arabic-speaking communities to distribute the video. This same individual will help us receive feedback from a focus group of native Arabic speakers. Their input will help guide future revisions as we strive to produce the most accurate and effective translation possible, allowing us to better plant the seeds of God's Word in the hearts of Arabic speakers.

Lagniappe: A Little Something Extra

Following Scott's first official sermon at Westbury Church of Christ, Alexis, Scottie, and Samantha climbed onto a bus along with the adults and students from the youth group.  We traveled to New Iberia, Louisiana, for Westbury's annual summer mission trip. Each year, the youth group and the school travel in separate trips to New Iberia, Louisiana, to work alongside other youth groups, the local church of Christ, minister Kenny Wright, and Model City Missions. A special thank you to Josh Hatfield, Westbury's youth minister, who has faithfully led this mission trip for the past six years. 

Model City Missions believes, "The church exists to make disciples and serve our community—not just to talk about faith, but to live it out together in meaningful, tangible ways." Throughout the week, that mission was clearly on display.

The theme of this summer's mission was Lagniappe (lan-yap), a South Louisiana tradition that means giving "a little something extra." Students were challenged not only to embrace the idea of lagniappe but also to look for examples throughout the week of others going the extra mile in ultimately serving Christ. 

Over four full days, our group was given several opportunities to serve. We painted a house, played with neighborhood children, cleared and planted a flower bed, cut back bamboo, painted a porch, visited an assisted living home, and even helped clear weeds and care for a neglected cemetery. Lagniappe. God, through His church in Louisiana, is seen in the works and good deeds being performed. 

Never have we been part of something so physically exhausting, yet so rewarding. Students and adults worked side by side in temperatures above 90 degrees with relentless Louisiana humidity. We encouraged one another, looked out for each other, and shared every task from beginning to end. We were truly a team.

During one of our devotionals, it was pointed out that some people need God's Word explained to them before they can believe. He used the Ethiopian eunuch in Acts 8:27–38 as an example, asking Philip to guide him in understanding Scripture. That is both necessary and commendable and is part of many people's journey to Christ. However, many times it is our example that people notice first. It is the impression we leave, the love we demonstrate, and the Holy Spirit working through our lives that opens hearts. Long before someone hears a sermon, they often see our actions. Those works can plant the seed that God later grows.

"In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven." Matthew 5:16

The love we have for God shines through our works. Model City Missions uses those acts of service to reach into the community and open doors for the Gospel. We left New Iberia tired, dirty, and sore—but also encouraged, challenged, and reminded that sometimes the greatest opportunities to share Christ can begin with giving "a little something extra." This doesn’t start and stop on a mission trip.  Lagniappe can happen in our own neighborhoods and communities.
