God Revealed
We’re excited to announce that we have launched a new video series — God Revealed: From Creation to Christ. The idea for this video series stemmed from my passion for telling people all over the world about who God is. In my travels, I’ve noticed a fundamental gap of knowledge about God and misunderstandings about His character — among nonbelievers, of course, but even among believers in the church. A disproportionate amount of the preaching I’ve witnessed in churches globally focuses on the sinner’s response (faith, repentance, baptism, etc.), or on critiquing other religious groups that we may at times neglect to adequately inspire devotion to the One whom we should worship and put our faith in. So, before developing a whole video series on how the sinner should respond, we decided to develop this series to better explain to nonbelievers and the churches alike, “Who is the God of the Bible?” and “Why Should We Believe, Respond to and Worship Him?” Our goal is to reproduce and distribute these videos in dozens of languages, so that people from any religious background or nationality can come to know their Creator and their only Savior. These videos may be viewed independently, or as part of a Bible study group (for which we hope to eventually make a book available).
Jeremiah 9:23–24 says, “Let not a wise man boast in his wisdom, and let not the mighty man boast in his might; let not a rich man boast in his riches, but let him who boasts boast in this, that he understands and knows Me, that I am Yahweh who shows lovingkindness, justice, and righteousness on earth; for I delight in these things,” declares Yahweh.
And Habakkuk 2:14 tells us that the knowledge of the glory of Yahweh shall fill the earth, as the waters cover the sea.
In each video, we intend to make the knowledge of the glory and character of Yahweh known by focusing on one aspect or metaphor. The first video has already been published, God Revealed: As Creator — The One Who Gives Order and Purpose, so check it out! Our next two videos will be God Revealed: As Father (Part 1) — The One Who Cares, and God Revealed: As Father (Part 2) — The One Who Calls Us Home. Future videos in the series will include God Revealed: As Ruler, Judge, Mediator, Shepherd, Lamb, Redeemer, Wind, Light, Human, and maybe a few more.
Another exciting aspect of this series is the help we’ve received so far to produce these cinematic and visually stunning videos. Christians from churches all over the US have pitched in. Give a listen and you’ll hear the talented Monty Parnell read Scripture. Aaron Washington and Aaron Reynolds were on graphic design and video editing. Mac Graham slaved over the audio. Lincoln Waddell and Aaron Reynolds helped with the video shoot. And that is not even to mention the financial contributions of all our supporters who have made this first video possible, and all of our translators and editors in countries throughout the world already anxious to make it available in their own languages. Thank God for all the talent He has gifted His church with!
February Highlights
We published Logos Answers websites in 3 additional languages — Portuguese, Polish, and Russian
Scott continued his How We Got the Bible classes with the India Restoration School of Preaching and Woodstock HS/MS class.
We launched our Logos Answers Chatbot (aka LAAI: Bible Assistant) in English. (Is this the first Chatbot in the churches of Christ? I think it may be!) Feel free to ask LAAI: Bible Assistant a Bible question!
